Most systems and processes within an organization are aligned so as to optimize the input, intellect, and experience of its employee’s. This is done to ensure that the product or service provided will create a profit for the organization. When changing the way one of these systems performs, such as machine maintenance, other systems and processes may also need to change in order to regain that alignment.

By identifying what areas will require alignment changes and what areas will not, the organization can proactively address and prevent systems issues instead of reacting to them after it is too late.
